If I have a route pair that I have say 6 frequencies on, does the time of day matter? So example:
Scenario 1 (lets assume JFK-LAX):
07:00
09:00
12:00
14:00
17:00
22:00
Scenario 2 (again JFK-LAX)
07:00
07:30
08:00
08:30
08:45
09:00
Either way, I have the same frequency, and the same capacity, I'm just spreading it out through the day. Does the engine look at Scenario 1 more favorably, or if it doesn't matter, am I better off just doing what will give me the fewest off-hour/red-eye flights?
doesn't really matter. I would say scenario 1 as you spread out your flights making them more appealing to flyers that do day trips. depart JFK at 7am, depart LAX at 11pm. seems logical. ;)

It does. There are certain peak times (it's in the manual I think) in the game. Recalling my very distant memories, I think it's 6-8AM and 2-4PM...
Try making the planes land at these times as much as possible. Do not increase turnaround time over 1% delay chance! It's not worth it. And yea, fill up your capacity as much as possible, the more flights, the more profit.
