Title: Turn around times
Post by: Kiwi Sim Pilot on May 01, 2010, 11:03:09 PM
Hi

New guy and probably a new guy question.  ;D

When designing a schedule for an aircraft does the turn around time have to be added to the end of the route before the next one begins?

Example aircraft as a minimum 45 minute turn around time. It lands at 14:00 after a return flight. Should the next scheduled flight be timed for at least 45 minutes ie 14:45 to include the turn around time? If so the longer the in between time will this also effect the aircraft on time record? Say leave an hour between each flight.

Cheers

Kiwi

While we are on the topic of turnaround times, how can SWA have a 20 minute turnaround time, yet have one of the most punctual airlines, while the minimum for any 737 is 40 minutes in the game? Even at 40 minutes punctuality would be at around 75 percent.

Try the forum search for that one. The model is not made for LCC's, and does not take into account that you do not need to clean & refuel at every stop. But that may change in the future.
