What's the rationale of not allowing other airlines who have aircraft on order the opportunity to back fill production slots left empty by bankruptcy or cancellation? I notice a number of wasted slots, and it would seem that manufacturers would want the opportunity to fill the slots by offering it to the next airline in line.
Cancelled slots 6 months prior delivery are not removed since the order delivery dates are locked already then. Further back in line the orders are cleared..
