Title: strange price for seats
Post by: meiru on April 18, 2010, 09:13:27 AM
Hi... I think, the price for new seats is a bit strange... if I have let's say 110 standard economy seats in my plane, and I want to modify this to 12 business + 90 standard economy seats... why do I have to buy all seats new? ... I can understand, that I can't sell the old ones, because you would have to find a buyer and this would make the game engine more komplex... but it would be nice, not to have to buy all seats new...  :D

I agree. It would be nice just to rip out the front 10 rows and leave what you already have on the plane for a reconfiguration.

This has been posted many times before. Currently Sami is working on the new game engine so has little to no time to look at the feature requests. But... I believe this one was at the *to do* list.

It will only take a (long) while before we get there.

^^^^ is 100% correct. I brought this up over a year ago.  It is something being worked on.

When you reconfig a plane it's always assumed that you change the entire cabin, and it includes a sort of cabin overhaul / "maintenance" too which requires change of all seats...

(may be changed later when seat conf. module is updated)

Well... To be honest, such a big make over for the cabin is done only when installing new generation seats as we could have when switching from "standard business seat" to "premium business seat". In real life, when you just add or take out some seats of the same type already installed on an a/c it doesn't take more than 12 hrs to reconfigure the a/c and it's quite cheap...

hmm. how quick can you change the pitch on the seats?  Is that a fast thing to do?
