Title: Flights to Iraq
Post by: EYguy on April 17, 2010, 08:26:55 PM
Hi everybody!

I was looking at an old Alitalia timetable and it shows that in the '80 AZ had 4 flights/week from Rome to Baghdad... After some search on the net I found out that even British Airways and other european airlines had the same flights to Iraq. Why is not possible to modle such flights in the game (say, until aug 1990)?

Thank you

I've seen a similar question before but the answer at that time was because the data isn't available!
Iraq was one of the first Arab countries to have an airport, let alone an airline.

With Baghdad Airport now in the worlds, will the airport remain open during the Gulf crisis or is my aircraft in danger of being grounded in Baghdad 1990-91 if it flies there?!  :'(

EDIT:  It also appears that in MT#2 demand is quite good to a variety of destinations from Baghdad, but in ATB the demand is very low.  Will the demand change dratically after the events of 1990-1991?

E.g Cairo-Baghdad in MT#2 demand is around 250-300 a day, but in ATB it is around 5 (five)

Yes in ATB#2 the demand from/to Bagdhad is very low. Nowadays there are flights between Europe, a.o. London and Copenhagen. So will the demand rise in the years, about 2009/2010?
