I already bankrupted once due to too rapid expantion :-[
My losses are dropping and LF increasing but wait tiill profit numbers start going into the green?

I find it's best to start by ordering two planes at once. This way, as long as the planes are large enough (717, 737) you can make money much earlier.
It's always better to get as many planes as possible right from the start. This is because, due to high amounts of overhead, it's difficult to make a profit with a single plane (unless it's fairly large). 2 planes spreads all those overheads over that many more planes/routes.
