glad you are disabling the ability to base at LHR and hopefully CDG and FRA too. I felt this is one of the reasons so many people left the first version early. My other suggestion is don't let fuel prices bounce up and down even close to what they did in the first version. It seems as though the first version had to be baby sat 24/7. No offense to anyone else, but I do have alot of other things to do besides checking to see if my European airline has gone under yet again because fuel prices doubled an hour later. Just my suggestion. Thank you Sami! :)
And AMS should be out to...
Regarding the fuel.. I have had no problems since I settled for turboprobs, ATR 72 :)

None of the top 5 airlines in the current game are based at those airports. It's harder at those airports as wherever you're based, LHR, CDG, FRA, etc are the first routes you look to open.
The fuel issue remains for those of us with just about ANY kind of jet. Fuel prices should not be anywhere near as erratic as before.

All top airlines use jets and survived. And to be honest, the game is listed as "Medium/Hard". I had problems with my first airline going over to big jets too quick, but my second is doing very well. ALL of my 175 aircraft make profit, exept when in C- and D-checks.
When I think about it, I'd rather have no restrictions on where to base. LHR is for example better for longhaul, thus not very good in this scenario.
Anyway, I have choosen airport for EC2, let's hope noone choses the same :)
