Title: Weather Conditions
Post by: Curse on February 16, 2010, 09:41:07 AM
Hi all,

I have a lot of problems with 'Weather conditions'. Flights are cancelled (up to 30 a week) or delayed (every third flight).

Is there anything to handle this?

My Hub is Moscow-Donodedowo.

Thanks

Yes you can do something about the weather... Move to a sunny tropical island.

Nice suggestion Otto! ;) Do you think the situation would change in summer on that hub?

Yes because weather delays depend on location and time of year.

Yeah, in summer it's only half this bad (December/January at starting topic).

May it help to extend the times between the flights/turnaround times? Or is there nothing to do?

You can't do a hing about it.

Usually delays are linked to the landing of a/cs... So, if you put a longer turnaround time you could maybe have an OTD because the longer turnaround time will help you in "softening" the impact of a delayed arrival on the time of departure.
But what I said is totally useless if your flight is cancelled! :)

Have big schedule times at some flights that are cancelled (240 minutes turnaround @ 757) and "can dep again" -> next start ~ 45 minutes.
