Title: Variable Prices For New Planes
Post by: ekaneti on January 12, 2010, 01:40:40 AM
Do prices change for new aircraft based on demand? I noticed that the CRJ-100 now costs more to purchase/lease than the CRJ-100ER/LR. In the used market the ER/LR always cost more than the basic model.

Yeah, that's been a feature for a little while.

It leads to frequent Bug Reports as people are confused by why one model costs a lot more than another though it appears that it shouldn't based on stats and/or reality.

Actually I like it. Represents real world discounting if a model is moving slowly

What I really would like to have as a new fatures is being able to pay the a/c in a different way. I mean, now I can pay the a/c 40% on order and the remaining amount at the delivery. I know that both Airbus and Boeing offer different payment options (kind of tailored paument) that suit the buyer ability to pay.
I would not mind to pay 50% on order, and the 50% on delivery. Or even pay the whole a/c in advance with the possibilty to save money with a discount (this is a usual practice in every industry!). I think that putting such options in the game would not be so difficult and it would help a lot while improving the "playability" of the game, especially for less experienced users...

Indeed. I'm buying MD90's like a bandit because they're so cheap in comparison to the A320's and 737's, and have the same level of performance.
