Title: Training costs for Airbus a/cs
Post by: EYguy on December 03, 2009, 03:51:42 PM
Dear all,

I showed this game to a friend of mine who works as cpt for a major airline. First of all, this airline operates a fleet mainly consisting of Airbus a/cs with a small presence of Boeing a/c.
What he told me after checking this game is that Airbus training costs for pilot and f/a are much lower than they are in this game thanks to the high degree of commonality of these a/c.
He told me that the conversion course from the A320 a/cs family to A330/340 take only a few hrs on the simulator and no more than 5 days consisting of simulator and theoretical lectures and that this commonality allows savings up to 45% compared to Boeing a/c. I checked our costs between Airbus a/c and they're similar to the ones for Boeing a/c.
Would it be possible to have such saving even implemented in the next engine version?
