Title: Production slots open but my a/c order is still pushed back?
Post by: Branmuffin on November 02, 2009, 02:01:17 PM
Hi all, just had a question about the new ordering system.. A couple days ago I secured 2 production slots in the 777 line for August 7 1998 and August 16,1999 (presumably from previously-cancelled orders).

Now again today I ordered another 777 (same variant, different MTOW) because I saw some free spots had opened up for September, November, and December 1998 since I made my 2 previous orders (see below).

my order:

To my surprise, the delivery date the system gave me was in December of 2001 (which was the nearest spot AFTER that block of free slots in late 1998 that popped up from a cancelled order)! what gives? the free slots are green and more than 6 months away so why weren't they available?

thanks for the help :)

Your later orders can never be delivered before last plane of your last order of the same type has been delivered. This is made to prevent production slot hoggin by placing multiple small orders.
