Just an idea? Could we have a feature to send funds to a fellow alliance member, say they were in trouble and needed help to get through a sticky patch such as the dreaded 'C Check Season'?

Please don't start this up. Who controls how much from all of that? Also, you could prop up other airlines really quickly this way. It would be a quick alliance bust out.
Companies cannot just give away or send money to some other company..

it seems you may have missed the point. take for example BMI in the UK. They have support from Lufthansa and Singapore I believe they own a share in bmi and in return have helped them stay afloat... Maybe allow for buying shares to provide the funding could work?
