Title: Demand on return flight
Post by: type45 on September 29, 2009, 07:11:35 PM
I'm now playing in ATB2, I can't understand something there: why the demand of return flight can be 25-50% less than the put-going flight?

For example, the route SAEZ-LSGG has a demand of F1C7Y159, and LSGG-SAEZ has only F0C3Y104! :o It is still acceptable to run the route with 762ER on SAEZ-LSGG, and nobody want to run LSGG-SAEZ, but how can I make a flight without a return to my base at SAEZ?

This is a very big problem for long haul flight, it is hard to accept (or run) if something like that happen......

The values shown there are only estimates, and also depend on the efficiency of your route planning staff.

Just some additional questions: will the demand effected by the historical events? such as the Asia economic down fall in 1997 will cause a full scale drop on demand of asian routes, or the depression in Western countries make a return fligh demand much less than the out going one from other places?
