I currently operate three fleets - 737-200 and 737-300/400/500 (european flights, 737-200 to be retired soon) and 767 (long haul). I will start Embraer ERJ fleet (regional flights) later too.
My question is - is good idea to start new fleet with very small aircrafts (I was thinking about Fairchild Metro) for some low-demand regional flights?

I think you need to be sure to keep them up in the air as much as possible, pretty much with only the necessary ground time for a safe turnaround time and maintainence checks. Try to stick in as many routes as possible per day. Just be sure your turboprop is fuel efficient and you can cover costs, you never know how high fuel prices can get!
To maximize your profits, I suggest you save some cashola and then buy a few. Leasing them won't make you too much money.

Last game I leased 15 of them and I was able to squeeze 100 000 dolars per month profit / one plane out of them after all payments (except staff costs) have been deducted :)
I am operating a fleet of 16 Fairchild Metros in ATB2. They are generating a reasonable profit for me however, it can be challenging to maximize their utilization since many of the small airports to which they are suited are not open 24hrs (at least in the NW United States).

Few minutes, first of them arrive.. So we'll see. If it will be bad, I lease them out or sell them...
I actually don't use them all day, in night (23-02), they "sleep" ;D
