I´m in ATB #2 . Current date is 07/23/1995
A few moments ago I ordered 2 new MD-90. The order backlog for thar aircraft was 8 and the production rate is 13 / month.
So, why my aircrafts will be delivered only in october?
The delay is so the aircraft can be built :)
There is a thread about this somewhere, but I can't find it yet
Cheers,
Dave
EDIT: Found it,

Indeed. Fully understanded.

That i can understand. What i cant understand is why i order 1 A300 now and get it at November 8 and if i order another one at the same time i´ll get in in December 3, 5 free slots apart. I suspect this is a feature to let everybody have opportunities etc, but if it is, its dumb on my opinion. This is supposed to be a competition game. Huge companies and small companies as well as bankruptcies are part of the fun. I can imagine this real world conversation with Boeing CEO. Good morning, i would like to order 40 aircraft in a deal totaling 4 billion to be delivered asap, i am prepared to pay 60% of the total order now. - Well sir, i am sorry but despite having no orders for that aircraft and a production rate of 6 per month i will only give you one per month. You see sir, who knows if someone else will order.
Guys, there is a line between real life and games. If you played in the past, you'd understand.
Some people would take out huge loans and buy an aircraft's line for almost 2 years straight. They'd order something like 100 planes or more and no one else would have a shot.
the slot system is made for that reason, true. It is much better AND very realistic compared to what we had.
What about whitetails? Is it included that if such aircraft is already in production, when the company goes bankrupt the slot is reused?
If the slot is cancelled so that delivery is LESS than 6 months away the slot is not re-allocated as delivery dates are already locked by then .. more than 6m. it should reallocate the slots for guy who makes the next order. It does not take into account those rare cases where the plane is already "built" and then never delivered ..
