I'm interested to see which airline comes out as number 1. :)

Feel free to tell why you voted for whichever airline you did. By the way, I know they're not all listed here. I could think of way more than twenty but then the list would be too long and I picked some of the big ones.

I chose JetBlue because of the great service, snacks, reliability and efficiency. :) Honorable mention to Virgin America too, but they're network isn't that large yet.

I chose the original (imo) Southwest! That was one of my favorite airlines growing up as a kid and although their service kinda sucks, I like them! Also honorable mention to Virgin America & Jetblue!

I like southwest as well. Unfortunately memories can only take me so far. :P But I do like their interiors... :) I wish SW's service was better...

SKYTRAX voted jetBlue as the number 1 low-cost airline in N.A. again, and I have to wholeheartedly agree with them. :)

AirAsia, its the closest LCC to me (though i haven't tried them yet, heard they were pretty good, EXCEPT for the baggage fees). The only asian LCC i've been on is Cebu Pacific Air. ::) i really really want to try Southwest, but sadly the only US airlines i've been on are United, American and JetBlue. >:(.

You didn't like jetBlue? If not you won't be impressed with Southwest.

Thanks for putting Australian airlines on there!!

For Australia I have to say it would be Jetstar for a few reasons:
* Virgin Blue have special sales which can turn out to be $100 more expensive than Qantas.  :o :o
* I tend to fly long flights: Canberra - Darwin via Sydney each time I fly. This is roughly 5 and a half hours of flying plus the stop over waiting. Of course I want comfort so Jetstar wins again, and entertainment..again Jetstar (with the cool portable DVD/TV/Song players)

And also since I'm a Qantas Frequent-flyer I can earn nearly 6,000 points if I'm with Jetstar  ;D ;D
(But that's only if I choose the 2nd lowest fare)

Yeah, I think the only continent missing is Africa but there isn't much there. :P

Where is SkyEurope? Ok, i know that nobody would vote for it, but still... :D

I prefer Air Berlin or Easyjet :)

Why?

I don't understand how someone could actually enjoy flying easyjet... That had to be one of the worst experiences on a plane ever for me.... True, not nearly as bad as Ryanair, but still really bad.

I'm blowing the trumpet for EasyJet. I remember when they were still a small business at my local (luton) running a few leased BA 737-200s to Glasgow and Edinburgh. And now they are a multinational success, with a far greater business model than that horrible blue and yellow airline.

They are the airline I have flown most with and I have never had any bad experiences. The longest delay was about 60 minutes, on a flight to CDG. The quality is fine. There is no IFE and no free meals, but do you really need it on a flight under 3 hours? Just bring a good book or magazine (and eat before the flight!) and you're sorted.

What I do like about EasyJet though over other LCCs, is that they never hide the full price. The price you see on the website always contains taxes and charges. And the optional fees are minimal. Unlike Ryanair, where you have to know the ins and outs of the system to find the best deal, or else you get bundled with so many charges, you might aswell have flown with a legacy carrier. I also cannot stand their marketing schemes and their recent actions (for anyone living outside of europe or under a rock: they removed check in desks to "cut costs to keep ticket prices down", insisting on all passengers checking in online, and a few weeks later anounced a £5 fee for checking in online. *****!).  ::)

Oh, and don't believe a word of what Ryanair say about removing toilets on their planes and replace them with seats. The 737-800 is only certified for 189 pax, and Ryanair are currently operating them with (drumroll...) 189 seats. The CAA will not allow them to put in anymore!

Easyjet, unlike Ryanair does usually serve airports close to the city. Charleroi is nowhere near Brussels and Beauvais shouldn't be called Paris.

I voted for air asia (they never hassled me for my large backpack) since Kingfisher red is missing (they actually serve you a hotmeal on KF red).

Completely forgot about that in my ramble! Absolutely true.

Do FR fly to CDG? Nope. Do they fly to Orly? Hell no. They fly to Beauvias..... where is that?  ???

Easy fly to both CDG and Orly.

I am going with Airtran, even though southwest flies to more places near where I live I just like having a seat assignment, and don't mind going through ATL. Also love XM radio so guess another plus

I vote for AirAsia. They are the best in Asia. Althought they do not provide free meal on-board but it do provide wide selection of food for us to purchase on-board. Example: Chicken Lasagna, Spaghetti with beef, Nasi Lemak(Local Cuisine), Nasi Briyani(Local Indian Cuisine), Vegetarian Nasi Briyani, Asian Fried Rice, Vegetarian Fried Rice. Unlike our local full-service only serve fish rice and chicken rice. I rather pay for the food i like.

Now they're expanding rapidly in Asia. So if anyone wanna come Asia can try AirAsia X sister airline of AirAsia which serving the long haul segment. Daily flight from London Stanted to Kuala Lumpur start on July. Only 99 Pound all and inclusive to KL. And from Kl connect your to other destination.

Heard that now they are sponsoring NFL league team Oakland Raiders and expected they will launch long haul flight from Kuala Lumpur to LA within one year from now. AirAsia Rock!!!!!!

i took RyanAir once and me and my dad did  a promise to ourselves never ever to take it again! Never!

If you want to know about that flight, put together all the negative things you heard about RyanAir, and add the most terrible things you can imagine on travelling on a plane. That was my one and only jurney.

Full Stop.

Once, I had a Night Mare on RyanAir! :o

Whoa do I see some voters on here who are complaining about voting polls in another thread???
This could/should have been two polls favorite North American budget carrier and or course favourite European budget carrier - oh wait a minute this is like Monty Python's Spanish Inquisition sketch of course there should have been three polls favorite North American budget carrier, favourite European budget carrier and favorite Asian no frills airline.

I never get tired of polls, although I have never set one,

regards,

Graham

Thanks for the critique. :P

I could have made more polls, but then there would be people saying there were too many polls for something that could/should have been condensed into one. ;)

I picked most of the big LCCs and I know I missed a few out like Airberlin, but meh.

You've actually missed out on a subcontinents full of LCCs.  ;D I never heard of these 6 month previously, but since I came to work in India, I have found the likes of Kingfisher Red, Jet Lite, Spicejet beyond compare. Expecting broke down old planes, I instead found good condition A320s, 737s and ATR 72s (in a country where after a few monsoons, everything looks old). And having missed a breakfast one morning before getting on a 1 and half hour Kingfisher Red flight to Hyderabad, I discovered that while the LCC version of KF lacks built in TVs and first class they serve you the same excellent free food with desert. I mean who could survive a flight lasting that long without free food  :D

JetBlue, of course :D Their in board entertainment is really awesome for a budget airline. Moreover, their HQ is just a couple of blocks from my apartments

I demand Volaris to be in that list, too! If it's possible to edit, of course. It's much larger than several airlines you put in there.

Since I can't vote for Volaris (Mexico) I'd choose either Virgin America or Azul Brazilian Airlines, but VA's network is really small and so is Azul's. So I'll go with JetBlue.  :)

I voted JetBlue, although I haven't flown with them yet, but I've heard they're great. Also, why isn't Vueling on the list? I flew with them from Brussels to Barcelona and never had any issues, and the inflight snacks were great too!
