Hi everyone,
as we know, in the real world the '57 and '67 were designed to have interchangable staffing, does the game include this fact?
I think it should, it is also similar with staff for the whole of the A320 series, B737 series, and I also believe B737 pilots can usually fly B757, this should be a feature to lower staff pricing.
so, the game would permit me to fly 737's along with my 57's and 67's and still have reasonable communality...
As far as i'm aware, (please correct me if i am wrong!) but you cant be checked for the 73 and 75 as a common aircraft as you can the 5 & 6...
You can however be checked out on both types at the same time, I believe Easyjet have there crews checked on the A319 and 737-700
Liam
i know in real life this is the case, but what i was wondering was that if my airline (which has 757;s only at the moment took 737's or 767's would it effect my communality?

A commercial pilot can only be certified for one "type" at a time.
I may be wrong on this... but I'm not sure the 757 and 767 come under the same type for pilots. However I believe the conversion course may be very short in comparison, as they do share the same flight deck.
I think it's a case of 50% commonality. It's not quite commonality in a A319/A320 sense, but there would be cost savings to be made.
I asked this question in the past and the answer i got was as follows. The B757 and B767 are separate fleets for commonality. The B737 is divided into three groups: the B737-100/200, B737-300/400/500 and B737-600/700/800/900. So to answer the question, it is my understanding in the game, not real life, the adding B767 or B737 would be a different fleet type and thus additional expenses.
In RL it's pretty much the same way, too. The '57 and '67 have very similar cockpits, but that's primarily for retraining purposes. A 57 pilot can train for the 67 in minimal time, but because of different handling characteristics and different engines and such, they really are separate aircraft (and even the 764 is more like the 777 than the 763 or 752).
How about A330 and A340 commonality? If remeber right they are differenet fleet groups in the game, but the are almost same aircraft in the real life.
A330/340 are the same fleet group in game.
