Let's start with the pronostics !
Which team are you cheering ? Who do you think will win ?
IMHO, I believe that the qualifying round will see as winners :
Group A : New Zealand & France
Group B : England & Argentina
Group C : Ireland & Australia
Group D : South Africa & Samoa
I'm for South Africa and France ! (would be a marvelous final !)
Excellent, a proper world cup. I feel some fantasy sweepstakes coming up, just for bragging rights, infact I've even worked out how to do it...
My winners of the groups;
A: New Zealand & France (depends if the good French team turns up or the team that can't play rugby)
B: England & Argentina
C: Ireland & Australia, although Italy might come out of nowhere...
D: South Africa & Wales (I hope!)
I'd love to see a New Zealand and Wales final, doubt it will happen. An England - New Zealand final would be good.
Although I'm Argentinian, I can see the trophy going to....Australia. Yep, I said it.
Opening match!
New Zealand 41 - Tonga 10
I would guess neither team was exactly happy about it.
was following that from work... looked epic !
First Sat game could have been a huge upset for the Scottish team, yet grabbed a win at the end vs Rumania. 34-24.
Waiting all night for ARG-ENG clash!
Ok...England 13 - Argentina 9. What a battle, we must find our kicker rapidly.
6 teams and you guys call that "WORLDCUP" :-\

Well there is actually 20 teams.
Ever heard of the 'world series' in which a total of ONE country competes!
Wales came real short of defeating the Sprinboks. 17-16 for South Africa.
Only if that drop-goal....

ahaha, explains it all.
" A frog in the well" :P Let you guys think what i mean :)
After this first day of games, I'm a bit sceptical on my 2 favorite teams (French and Boks)...
Dammit, I'm sure they'll awake ! (they'd better do ;-) )

Only if the referee was not a biased useless waste of space and all that.
That Hook ball was totally legal and the refing was absolutely terrible, many legal Welsh stuff was disallowed and just as much illegal SA stuff was allowed.

+1 ;D
mmm, I haven't noticed that. Maybe because I'm an outsider? Which hook ball are you talking about? I certainly missed that. What most impressed me was the ability of Heinrich Brussouw to steal the ball off the rucks, he's a beast.

Hook kicked a penalty which from one angle looked questionable but from basically every other camera in the stadium looked as though it sailed through the bars.
Oh yeah! You're right! It was definitely in if you ask me. But I would accept that it was very very close to the post extension.
Wonderful French game today =)
Come on the Bhoys!!!

The poor toronto blue jays are forgotten... canada has teams in the nba and mlb
Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice one (All Blacks vs France)
Any bets on that?
I believe the difference in points will be less than 7 points. (whoever wins)
Argentina 13 - Scotland 12
Man, I have no fingers left! Scotland really deserved a win here and they indeed were walking with it 8 minutes to go, but Los Pumas got away with it with hard defence and strong heart to overcome the injuries of two of the best players.. Amorosino's try felt like it was from other game.
I'm sorry for any Scot here but I'm so happy! :)
Only a week left for the RWC! The finalists are N. Zealand and France. The match for the third place will be played between Australia and Wales.
The All Blacks made an impressive effort to shut down any Australian hope for an upset. And France, despite showing lots of doubts in their match against the 14-man Dragons, had the touche-de-grâce that every past champion had and are undoubtedly up for the finals.
I want to say that I was with the Springbocks in this one after my team lost to AB, but well.... :D
Can't wait to the matches already!

I will eat my airline if the All Blacks don't win this year. The Aussies are a better team than the French and the All Blacks decimated them. In my head it should be a Wales-NZ final.
Lol I agree. The RWC is theirs to lose, although the French are specialists in the art of the unexpected. And Wales was the one who deserved the win but rest assure that they have a team for the future.

For sure France is unexpected in this final. However, they played well enough when they had to (although well enough doesn't mean well).
So they have a chance to win the RWC, and so has NZ. 18 other teams wannot say the same.
These games are not only a question of skills, but of adaptation and evolution. The SpringBoks were in a similar situation when they hosted the RWC for the first time !
No matter who wins, they deserve it !
