Equity Shares of Airlines

I'm currently in a game world with quite a lot of cash that I'm earning 2% interest on but this got me thinking. An airline in my position in real life may purchase a stake in another airline, providing that airline with financing for expansion or similar.

I was thinking the mechanic could work like so:
Minimum airline age 5 game years to prevent early airline abuse.
The airline wanting financing could decide how much of their current airline value they are willing to sell upto 49% (to ensure non controlling interest). This would then be recognised as a cash injection for that airline that could be used on whatever they want. If the airline grows and becomes profitable the value of the stake taken would increase and could be sold later on to the market at whatever the market rate is for a profit. Alternatively if the airline fails or money is lost so there is some level of risk.

Why would you invest money in another airline when you could Widen the types you operate?
Try using small aircraft to bring passengers to your base from nearby airports that aren't getting a decent service.
I hope the game has included that!  Or maybe we should be able to operate buses too?
I'm doing that, but I can't be sure that it's worth deploying a small plane to do it!  I think I'm getting some pax from nearby my, but unused neighbouring airports, so I send small planes to bring what is available - but I'm still not sure it's worth it!

Mainly fleet-type penalties, small aircraft are also not known for making good profits in high-wage environments like where my airline is based.
