Never Happened Before

I have been participating in Airway Sim for a long time.  I have started airlines at the beginning of a game, and I have started many airlines after bankruptcy.

I have never seen a new airline get constant warnings about a company image of -15.

It is expected that a new airline will have a low company image at the start of a game; however, -15!  One real world day later, I started another airline in a different game world, and it is progressing as expected.

What is going on?

My airline is 95 days old.  Every route is in the black by a decent amount.  I have checked all the settings. Marketing plans are in place.  At first, I created a $118K marketing plan.  After warnings about low company image, I added an additional $141K marketing plan. The warnings continued.  I added an $18K route specific plan.  Then another one for $48K.  That is more than $325K in marketing. Now, I am losing money - spending way too much on marketing.

The warnings have finally stopped, but my company image is still -10.8.

What is happening?

what does the flight delay section say under the routes menu? This is generally the cause.

Have you had any emails/messages saying there is a problem with X or Y, for example plane maintenance missing ?

No aircraft specific messages.

2 flights on one aircraft list 40+ minute delay due to mechanical. Each flight as 100% cargo and 98+% pax load factor.  Every other flight in the system has very low delay times.  No cancellations on any flight.  No other problems mentioned.

What does this mean?

How can it be up +35.2% to -7?

The percentage represents an indication of how much something has moved between two fixed points. Your two fixed points are -10 (0%) and 0 (100%).

If your CI stayed the same, it would be a 0% improvement.

If your CI went to 0, that would have been a 100% improvement.

Yours went up by 3, which is a third of 10, or 33,3%. I imagine the shown numbers are approximated to remove the decimals, hence the 35,2%.

If you go up by another 3, then you'd get 3/7*100= ~43%

That airline bankrupt long ago.

In all my years, no airline of mine ever had a minus anything company image!  It has not happened since.

I'm rather proud to have the Marketing Nightmare and Empty Planes level one achievements. I got them quite accidentally when I took a very successful three base turboprop line based in Tanzania, decided to use all my profits to get into long-haul after maxing out the regional possibilities, then just stopped logging in for weeks. Things get pretty ugly when the CEO just kinda goes missing and takes the check book with them.
