[-] Dynamic production rate of aircraft based on demand
« on: May 17, 2009, 04:03:14 AM »
The title explains it all. In real life you see manufacturers cutting production rates due to low demand or increasing production because of high demand. Can this be added to the game? It would at least ease the current 8 year line-ups. Perhaps is this something for the new ordering system ;)

Thanks,
Florian

It is in the new ordering system, but was recently also added to the current game as well.  Production adjusts to keep queues from growing too long.  Doesn't mean you won't have to wait years, there's nothing at all unrealistic about queues of 3-5 years that's actually quite normal, just that you won't have to wait a decade.

From the ChangeLog:
Quote
   * When more aircraft are ordered and the aircraft production rate is increased this also makes the queue tighter and orders are delivered earlier. And same the other way around.

   * A notable thing to all players is that the new aircraft delivery dates are not fixed to a specified date anymore. They may change some weeks/months forward or backward as the order queues and aircraft production rates change.

The production rate is already variable according to the order demand.
