Californian Airlines has partnered with European aerospace conglomerate Airbus Industrie to launch a pair of the newest wide-body airliners, the Airbus A330 and the Airbus A340. Californian Airlines is the largest current Airbus customer with over 180 A300 family airliners in service. This loyalty has led to Californian Airlines investing in 98 confirmed orders for A330 and A340 aircraft, with an option for over 200 more.
The A330 will be the world's largest twin engine airliner. Not only is the type larger and more comfortable than contemporary alternatives such as the DC-10 or L-1011, the aircraft will revolutionize aircraft efficiency. The A340 is the bigger brother to the A330, boasting four engines instead of two. This difference allows the type to reach unprecedented ranges, allowing for hundreds of new non-stop routes around the world. Both aircraft have new ultra-modern cabins, lower pressurization altitudes, and quieter engines for both passengers and for those on the ground.
These aircraft will be the backbone of the Californian Airlines long-haul network, replacing the aging DC-8 airliner. Alongside the A300, the Californian Airlines A330 and A340 will be the best way to cross continents and oceans!
