Emporium Air beginning to phase out MD-87's

Emporium Air has decided to begin retiring its MD-87's due to increasing competitiveness in the markets it is serving. The airline announced Embraer aircraft offer high savings on fuel and maintenance costs that make them an attractive alternative that allows prices on routes to be driven down. Special final flights of the MD-87 will take place.

Emporium Air will also be reconsidering the place of its MD-90's in the current fleet in an attempt to increase fleet commonality.
