Asia Connect announces the return of the first built pax jet, Comet 1 #011. We invested $10M to restore the jet after it had been parked for nearly 20 years. The jet will be available for charter flights, inviting all enthusiasts of historic aircraft to experience the sound of 4 single spool jet engines. Comet 1 #011 was originally part of Hongqiao Airlines fleet before it spent a few years in the former airline of Alpenflug (where it probably helped in their bankruptcy). It came to Asia Connect in 1961 and served until 1966.
The jet will be presented in a ceremony in Guangzhou in 50 days along with the 767-200, the future of Asia Connect. Both jets will then fly in formation and visit the main cities that are within the network of Asia Connect.
