PRESS RELEASE
AUCKLAND, SEPTEMBER 16 1976
PUBLISHER: ISLANDHOPPER PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT
Islandhopper is as of 00:00 NZST known to the public as Zeal Air.
The rebranding is made in order to reflect that the airline is now operating internationally and is no longer a pure domestic airline. The name is easy to associate with New Zealand and the new logo with the two ferns shows a distinct identity that will be recognizable from far.
The first aircraft carrying the new livery is ZK-ICP, a Boeing 727-200 Advanced that will be delivered the same day to our Christchurch base and will be followed by two further Boeing 727-200 Advanced that will be delivered in December and January. At the same time, the first Fokker F-27 will be painted into the new livery as well as a number of aircraft when they will enter heavy maintenance.
The airline codes will remain IH/HOP and the callsign will continue to be HOPPER. The tickets are available at your local travel agency or in a Zeal Air sales-office.
