RKSY runway length
« on: October 15, 2021, 05:15:02 PM »
Hello, can anyone shed some light as to why the runway length at Seoul Yeouido (RKSY) is only 600m? I have one plane that can land there and the runway length restricts it to carrying only one passenger. Was that runway really only 600m in real life?

I wrote a post about this on the airport data contribution.
In short, it was 600m * 2 runways up until 1950, and then there was the Korean war unitl 1953 during which Pusan(Busan) was Korea's capital.
Then from around 1953-1954 until 1958, the USAF built 1800m runway was active.
Gimpo opens in 1958 so you could wait until then to fly into Seoul.
