Second Hand Fairchild Metro Pool About To Shrink?

Keen observers of the small airliner/general aviation world will know that several operators have been buying or leasing Fairchild Metro III's from Mavi Goyukuzu (Blue Sky) based in Turkey. These long legged little feederliners can operate profitably on routes too long for ordinary small aircraft and have comparatively low overheads. Over lunch and a pipe in Ankara the CEO of Mavi  Goyukuzu  explained that they had marketed the planes because they were now too small for many of the Turkish feeder routes.  Their low airframe time (under 10 years in most cases) and low prices have made them popular, but sales and leases are slackening off so the smiling but ruthless CEO said he was now considering scrapping the surplus airframes as they came up to their next C Checks.  Ever fancied your own executive aircraft, or putting in a route to that remote island or mountain retreat?  If so the message is buy or lease soon......
