Sure, it might not be as spacious as a widebody jet. Sure, you might not even get a window even if you've booked a window seat. Our customer's complaints were over weighted by the sheer efficiency and short turnaround time that the flying noodle could offer.

AeroPohjois expanded into long haul flights late in 1978, where the Douglas DC-8-63 was chosen over the Lockheed L1011-500 as it was deemed a better fit for the rather thin passenger demand of the era, and with our company being the first operator to commit to the CFM56 re engine program in 1984, the margin of fuel efficiency has been further widened, enough to compete effectively with the arrival of the 2nd gen wide bodies.

With the pending delivery of our final A330-200 on order, another chapter in our book draws to a close. The final DC-8-73 in service, OH-FDG, will continue scheduled service until its replacement's arrival. As the 2nd last operator of the pure pax config DC-8, we invite all enthusiasts to book a special flight to Finland.
