[ok] Cargo Distribution does not work correctly
« on: December 09, 2019, 11:58:00 AM »
GW2: Now we had the cargo update, and its been a few weeks - no changes in my routes since ages.

Actual demand still lags a lot behind Potential demand, even when i am the monopolist. DOH-LHR, DOH-LAX, ...

Please check.

There are 3 airport pairs:
DOH-LHR
DOH-LGW
DOH-MAN

On the outgoing legs it more or less adds up, since the MAN has a cargo flight.
On the returning legs it does not add up.

well, most easily visible in LAX-DOH: no other airports involved, but actual and potential are far apart.

I actually found one like that as well.  EWR-CAG in GW2.

CAG does not overlap with anything, and my flight is the only flight to the US.  Yet, the actual cargo demand is only 3,290 out of potential of 11,300.

My flight has been up for about a year, more than enough time to shift the demand.

So looks like there is indeed a bug here.  I have no idea how this one differs from other airport pairs where the demand does shift correctly....

Looks similar to some of my situations in last GW#4, where at some point remote airports lost their demand (and I was all alone in SIN, so no competition messin' on these routes).

Yup, I posted 2 more in the Test server chat, and I may have more, but I want to give them a full year (RI=100) before I report them.

My theory is that somehow, they are not part of the "rotation" that recalculates the actual demand between airports.

Not rotating because they have no overlapping airports, thus nothing to rotate with? Might be an interesting lead.

Sum of actual < Potential

From NYC area to Airport LCA (Larnaca)

Potential ~9050

Actual JFK-LCA = 2520
Actual EWR-LCA = 2380

Total Actual = 4900  (> half of the actual is missing).

No other flights from LCA to US and no catchment area overall on LCA end.

Another one just like the above:

NYC-BRI (Bari, no overlap with anyything)
Potential: 25,500
Sum of Actual (from JFK+EWR): 15,000

The tiniest overlap with IAD (PHL area has a small overlap).

IAD-BRI Potential 8220 Actual 2630

It's as if the disappearing actual cargo issue is back.

Here is EWR-ZAG in MT

Potential: 6400 kg
Actual: 1860 kg
(no other flights to the US)

That's less than 1/3 of the potential, the other > 2/3 did not move / disappeared.

its not just singular routes, its basically all cargo ops for me. (even the ones that do have overlappings)
no clue what the guys in japan and germany say, but CBD currently, from my airlines perspective, is just rubbish.

Sami, is there a plan to fix this soon, or shall i lease out my cargo aircraft?  :-[

If all of the cargo is screwed up this way from DOH, I don't think there is a point flying if all the routes are unprofitable.

From my reports, I have maybe 1 out of 10 or 1 out of 15 screwed up this way, and it is unpredictable....  So decision for me is to fly them at loss or losing all of RI investment by pulling the plug on the routes affected by this bug.
