[-] implement eu-us treaty
« on: November 02, 2019, 12:08:50 AM »
Hi,

implementation of the eu-us treaty would be important. Otherwhise players from smaller countrys (Scandinavia, Poland,...) are not able to built up a long-haul service above the critical fleet-size to making money.

Example: SAS offers long-haul from Stockholm, CPH and Oslo.

The EU Open Skies is already implemented in the game.

Think the initial opening up is April 1997 from memory

From the example the OP mentions, only Norway (not being part of the EU) is not included. The rest is fine.

shure? Manual is saying:
Seventh Freedom of The Air

The right to carry revenue traffic between points in two countries (B-C) on services which lie entirely outside its own home country.

Example: Paris - Barcelona, as an American company.
In AWS: Not allowed, allowed inside EU after April '97 for EU-based carriers.

No, only within the EU.
From 1997, you can base in every other EU country if you're HQed in a EU country.
However you can't base in other EUs countries' overseas territories (UK airline can't base in Martinique, French airline can't base in St Marteen, etc.).

and this is the point why it make sense to implement the eu-us treaty. If you are based in Stockholm you cant fly longhaul from CPH. But SAS can ;-)

But that precise example is possible in AWS.

Do you mean scheduling a LH flight from Copenhagen without opening a base there?

No. Company is based in Sweden, HQ in Arlanda. Want to open base in Denmark and fly to for example New York.

This is possible. Just got to wait for the Open Skies agreement. 1997.

Oslo no, though, as this is a specificity of SAS, but Norway is not part of the EU.
(and anyway, Oslo has almost no LH demand in the game)
