Author Topic: [-] Add "engine type" sub-filter to the a/c type filter on the UM  (Read 1049 times)

I was looking for some 2nd hand 763F on the UM, in GW#4. It appears that there are 15 pages of them. Fine.

However, I use an engine that's pretty rare on the UM, and to find "my" plane I have to cycle through  at least 40 different tabs before finding what I'm looking for. Not very efficient, to say the least.

An "engine type" filter would solve all this. Or at the very least an "engine manufacturer" filter.

Thank you.

The free text feature should do this for you in the interim if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, text search feature works well as a workaround.

BTW, there used to be two tabs on Used Market page, one was called "Technical", that showed specs of the aircraft.  It seems to have disappeared.

Those were the days... now we just click through every aircraft  :,(

The text search works fine for this, so no need to add an additional field there.

The text search works fine for this, so no need to add an additional field there.

So, the only reason that I could see here is that you can only search on a single text attribute at a time. For example, if you wanted to look for a specific subtype, say, the 757-200 and not 300, AND specify a PW-2037 engine, you simply can't do that with a single text search.

Perhaps the feature request would be more to allow the use of AND/OR logic to be added to the text box...

I actually recall making a feature request about exclusion filters as well.
Especially useful for airport research. Try to look through NA airports when you don't care about the US...
