[-] Cargo issues in MT
« on: August 09, 2019, 01:16:19 PM »
This is regarding the archived bug:
https://www.airwaysim.com/forum/index.php/topic,82072.0.html

The cargo re-adjustment / growth seems to be stop and go.  We are back to "stop".  It has not changed for 2-3l months.

EGLL-KJFK, potential cargo:

1998-02-01 730/1290/1030
1998-07-10 3090/4770/3610
1999-04-02 3610/5660/4260

Cannot see any errors here. (The initial cargo calculation behaves differently from passenger figures)

The cargo now adjusts, but the adjustments are miniscule, compared to the target where it should get based on previous games.

For example, JFK-HND was normally 800,000+ potential demand, and now it is 116,270.  I will keep monitoring this.  Part of the issue may be smaller catchment areas, but I think only small part.

No, I think overall, worldwide cargo demand was slashed. I have gone through multiple city-pairs to compare demand vs previous GWs and dare I say cargo is one-third to one-half lower. Routes I've flown in past GWs with full 747Fs are now much smaller in demand and are more suited for a 767F.

Just much lower demand. Perhaps there is still more growth left on top of the normal yearly growth? I hope so...

Well, it is actually close to 1/8 to even 1/20 of the previous game demand, rather than 1/3 to 1/2.  And the way the demand growth behaves (last 4-5 months) as if it has already reached its full potential.
