JetAirlines Group into the future with "Blue Sky 2030"
« on: May 09, 2019, 04:37:57 PM »
Addis Ababa  -  May 15, 2026

Major celebrations took place at the JetAirlines Group Headquarters at Addis Ababa, as the airline announced that it was officially appointed as the Ethiopian national airline. "We have worked hard to earn this status, and it brings us great honor to represent our nation as we spread our wings across the world." said Tomnieuw - CEO and President of the JetAirlines Group.

With the new appointment, the airline presented its new long-term strategy plan, called "Blue Sky 2030", as well as a new corporate logo and aircraft livery.

First and foremost, a brand new and dedicated JetAirlines terminal is being constructed at Addis Ababa airport, due for completion by next year. When completed, the terminal will be the largest airport terminal on the continent, with boarding gates, 2 JetBusiness Lounges, 2 JetSet Lounges (new concept for top tier frequent flyers), 1 arrival lounge (JetBusiness passengers only), extensive duty free and food outlets as well as a business center.

Over the next 4 years, JetEasy will replace all existing 737 aircraft with brand new, state-of-the-art and ultra fuel efficient Boeing 737 MAX 7 aircraft. Each new aircraft will be delivered with a brand new on-board product: JetBusiness will feature fully lie-flat seats, whereas JetStyle will see an increased seat pitch and even more generous legroom.

JetExpress, the airline's regional operator, is growing by acquiring 10 new Embraer ER3 jets that will be based at its newly announced regional hub at Abba Tenna, from where JetExpress will offer flights throughout Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

By 2030, the JetAirlines Group will operate the youngest and most environmentally friendly fleet in Africa, totaling 65 aircraft.

In addition to the airline operators, JetLounge will see expansion as the network continues to grow and new lounges open in every destination that is served by the JetAirlines Group, as well as the newly introduced JetSet Lounge which is a dedicated lounge for JetPoints Platinum and Global Express Gold members. JetHotels, the JetEasy hotel chain, is expanding with new properties opening in Athens, Istanbul and Hong Kong.
