Same in Cairo, etc. Appears they are getting triggered to expand but are at max for Era

No, they are actually expanding. Just a display issue at airport page.

Interesting that CAI is also expanding.

FRA is #2 and CAI is #9 on slot constrained (or was before a BK at CAI).

So as I suspected:

It seems that if the primary driver for the airport expanding is lack of slots, and if the expansion does not (yet) deliver any slots, it seems that in more advanced game worlds, some airports will get back to back expansions.

since the infrastructure expansion does not grant new slots, the slot constrained airports will keep coming up first for infrastructure expansion...

PS: of the top 10 slot constrained, LIN, BCN, LGW are also expanding....

Per the patch notes:

Quote
"The airports to be expanded are determined by a priority-based list of 12 different factors. The highest priority is given to airports with daytime slot usage of over 90%, and priority 2 then for airports with slot usage of over 80%. The 3rd and 4th priorities are for airports at the top 20 of pax/cargo transported during previous year. The following priorities are given to airports with high traffic class levels, relatively high slot usage and also to small airports with infra levels 1-3. From this priority list a handful of airports are randomly selected each month to begin their expansion. There will be always some airports from the low priority class too picked for expansions, but emphasis is on the top priorities (if available). The reason for the expansion is mentioned in the Dashboard news item."

It would appear that without a release of slots this game world that will be the case.

Sami, buff my airports please...

On a slightly related note. What if an airline slot-locked their own airport just to trigger expansion? If all alone in their respective airport... what would be the harm in that?  :P

Edit: I thought of a better idea!! In '63 Singapore joins the Fed of Malaysia for 2 years... could this be quickly model? Therefor when I get access to SIN, I can attack and trigger the SIN airlines into opening in Subang - Thus using slots and getting my Infa expansion. Then, after two years, the system kicks them out and I get to keep my Infa levels

We just need Sami to finish the infrastructure functionality, so that it adds slots.

Then, deliberate slot locking will be futile, and also, the expansion will not always get triggered by airports being low on slots, but instead will follow the other triggers.
