Cargo allocation not taken into account, not even shown
« on: May 27, 2018, 07:58:51 AM »
GW#2, USSS-UHWW, Buddy Holly Airline, B73129
https://www.airwaysim.com/game/Routes/Planning/X/USSS/UHWW/

Flown with a 733 max range option, the route goes almost at max range (2725nm).
Cargo space shouldn't be restricted, and there is still a little payload available for cargo: 330kg if I select 100% LC.
However, even if I select 100% SC, it shows 0kg allocated.

In the pic below, monday is with 100% LC (330kg), tuesday with 100% SC (0kg), and the other days with 35% LC - 65% SC.

Or is there a minimum SC weight I should supply, even in order to take a smaller amount of SC?

Yes, for all cargo classes you must have certain space and volume available. Don't have them right here at hand just now though.... But it should not be larger than the minimum amount of demand.

Edit: Actually, looking at Tuesday. A/C nominal range with full PAX payload is 2740 NM and route length is 2725 NM. So, it is so close to the max that there probably is no or very little cargo payload capability left and it is probably the reason.

Actually, no, if I may contest.

With 100% LC, I got 330 Kg available, meaning there is still at least 330 Kg of payload available at that range.

But when I switch to SC, nothing, 0 Kg.

Edit: and this might not be a volume problem, as SC is smaller than LC for the same weight.

minimum for SC is 500kg. if your aircraft does not dedicate 500kg to SC, then there is 0kg SC. You can block a few pax seats, then it should be fine, but usually not worth it for 50kg of cargo, if the pax are full. (and yes, its weird, that you cant take the whole 50kg of standard cargo demand because your plane only has dedicated 499kg to standard cargo. but the whole cargothing is a bit unrefined, it seems to me.)

Damn!
Didn't remember that subtlety, but it appears you're right.
Blocked seats to 122 (from 125), allocation 10/90%, SC allocation above 500 Kg and it works fine.

Thanks Dani :)

But yes, this behaviour is actually both weird and absurd... Saving on server capacity?

Yes, that is wrong. The minimum shown demand should always match the minimum allowed weight. Might be 50 vs 500 by accident...

If think I have a similar issue on HKG-LIN - GW1 flight NX5222

Cargo allocation does not seem to correspond to what I enter on the slider. See screen shots below:

I should add, it's being flown by DC8-73F so I assume volume requirements should be met?

I posted a bug report for that a few months ago:
https://www.airwaysim.com/forum/index.php/topic,76285.0.html

Where the resulting allocation seems to go haywire, not corresponding what player entered.

VC10F seemed to be more susceptible to this than other cargo aircraft I have flown.  It may have something to do with volume vs. weight (but I am guessing).
