747-400 out of production?
« on: January 16, 2018, 06:58:05 PM »
I just noticed that the 747-400 is out of production since 1999 while the actual aircraft was produced until 2005 according to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_747-400). I read in the manual that production end times vary by up to 1.5 years. This seems somewhat of an exception. So I was just wondering: is the manual wrong, is Wikipedia wrong, is there a bug or am I missing something?  :-[

Production START is variable. End is fully dynamic and based on player actions.

Hey,

I'm missing the 747 as freighter (400F and 400ERF) version in the game. Did I just missed the production window, is it currently not included or are they're still to be announced? Would be great to have them in the game.

Best!

End of production is fully dynamic, if players keep ordering a certain plane, production never ends. Technically you could buy a DC-6 in 2035, brand new :)

Is there a list somewhere about upcoming freighters? There's really only MD11F now for +5000NM routes (without tech-stop). I know that A332F and 777F will become available in ~4-8 years but is there plans for anything else? The 777F can also have a quite low range if its converted from the standard 772.. ::)

For the upcoming planes, check the changelog:
https://www.airwaysim.com/forum/index.php/topic,58865.0.html
or missing planes:
https://www.airwaysim.com/forum/index.php/topic,25934.0.html

For the implemented ones (but not per se in your GW), check the list:
https://www.airwaysim.com/Information/Aircraft/

An aircraft might not be in your GW because of:
 - being a prototype (not a feature all the time)
 - being added to the database after your GW started
 - randomness: in each GW some variants are usually absent - but don't worry, major ones are always there.

Also, the 748F as the biggest payload lifter in the game. Should be around in 2010-ish. Sorry the 747 family is not available at the moment, it would surely add another factor into the games equation. For now, the MD11 rules in our AWS reality :)
As of today, there is no 772SF because there are none in RL atm. There's been talk for years, but it looks like IAI is finally working on an STC for it. The A333P2F was just launched not too long ago and the first bird is finishing up its conversion last I heard. Will need to work on that, but no rush as it wont be available till 2018 anyway ^_^

We are missing the A310 P2F conversions and a combi A300-600R.

There's A340/777 LCF hybrid conversions floating around. None are flying though  :-\
