...so because it seems like it is not really possible to block seats by class, I tried to change a ultra long flight taking off from short runway to a stopover flight however the passenger number dropped to something like twenties out of predicted 150 demand due to the stopover when the route image is at about 60s and my previous flights with 74 economy seats are basically full.
Perhaps an explanation to the passenger behavior could be they opts for other connecting flight or other transportation means instead but usually on such long routes with distance over 10500nm wouldn't direct flights usually still have quite a bit of edge over other flights especially when there are no competition? It seems unlikely for 80% people opt not to take the flight just because there is a tech stop....

1. Tech stopping alone tends to have a similar effect to nerfing 30-50% of demand.
2. There's a point where the total trip time becomes too high and nerfs sales significantly, somewhere around 10k miles.

When you're flying in that range, it's really just for giggles, as the cost of sending your plane on a 2 day round trip really can't be covered by any number of passengers...

It also changes over time.  In 1960s, it has almost no effect.  In 2000s, it becomes almost useless to fly tech stopped routes...
