[ok] "Personal" assistent on route opening
« on: February 14, 2017, 08:53:21 AM »
Hi,

I just noticed a player opening a route with 0 demand.
Got me thinking that the personal assistent might have some use in route planning/opening. This is not the first time I see this...
- opening routes with 0 demand
- opening a route with payload restrictions from runway requirements

Cheers,

Nc

Pretty sure...
I think the PA is there for new players like this, so I think advice on opening Routes might be nice...
- opening Routes with more than 300% supply,
- smaller than 30% of the aircraft you're trying to open the route with (smallest variant within fleet group)

Couple of other useful pieces of info that the personal assistant could provide (that would help mainly new players and also veterans).

- level of penalty for "aircraft is too small for the route"
- indicate if the new flight is too close in time to another existing flight.  Also level of penalty it will generate
- indicate that with addition of this flight, there will be too many flights on the route.  Also indicate level of penalty it will generate.

There will be various things added (on the list already) for the assistant. But just throw all possible ideas here ....

These are all worthy suggestions.

Another one:

- indicate that with addition of this route, there will be an oversupply on the route.  This would require a round trip when the seat blocking is changed, or a pop up on submit.

Also, a related feature request elsewhere: disable oversupply warning in the system when there is only 1 single flight to the destination.  I have a lot of feedback from our alliance that this is one of the biggest time wasters in the game (to constantly re-adjust single flight seat blocking).  Multiple flight oversupply warning is great, but single flight oversupply warning serve no purpose - other than to create useless work for the player.

Something that just struck me twice recently : an alert to say the destination runway is too small for filling the place for a come-back. When you fly from CDG, tou tend to forget that not all far airports are gifted with adequate runways. My CDG-AEP route is just ridiculous.

Another thing : a warning about the necessity to block a few seats.
