Turnaround time.
« on: November 22, 2016, 05:06:46 PM »
Why would A312 and B753 both take same amount of time to turn around? With A312 having double aisle combined withb slightly lower passenger capacity its turn around time shall be lower.

You can't compare just 2 models in the fleet type.  The turnaround time is for the entire fleet.  A300 fleet also includes A300-600R, which has much higher capacity.

If anything 757 turnaround time is too high.  For example, compare A321 / 739er capacity with 752.  I am not saying that 757 should be the same turnaround time, just a little lower, maybe 60 minutes.  The turnaround time of 757 is the one that really sticks out...

Another example, 727, the closest cousin of 757 has a TAT of 45 min vs. 70 min of 757.

yeah.
757 is the successor of 727. why the TAT is almost doubled and equal to long range birds, I dont know...
A321 with the same capacity has 40 min...

A320 are optimized for turnaround times, with modular luggage loading. I have no clue wether the 757 is similar, though.

But if you compare it to 727, it is 70 minutes for 757 vs. 45 minutes for 727.

There was a lot of talk about combining 757 with 767 into one fleet type.  If that was the case, a 70 min for combined 757/767 would make sense...
