We're heading towards the end of this super co
and exuberant decade, so many things have happened, from Elvis visiting President Nixon in the White House in '71 to horrors of Vietnam. We've seen a movie that made us all fearful of having a paddle in the sea, just the music from 'Jaws' gives me the shivers. Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells
was not only the theme tune to the scary movie The Exorcist, but also the album that launched Richard Branson's Virgin Records
, now what ever happened to him?
Then Elton John donned sequins for a couple of sell out shows at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angles, belting out numbers such as ‘Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting’, 'Goodbye Yellow
Brick Road' and 'Rocket Man'. Oh yes, its been a wonderful decade for sure, we've also welcomed many aviation milestones, the entry into service of the Lockheed L1011 Tristar, Airbus A300 and the DC10 have had massive impacts on global air travel. Other notable aviation events include Concorde taking to the skies, this supersonic delta winged marvel cruises at a speed of 1350
miles per hour and the development and first free flight of the Space Shuttle Enterprise.
Now we head towards the 1980's
and who knows that the next decade will bring us? What adventures will we enjoy? What trials will we have to overcome?
