LH scheduling issue

Hi everybody!

I have a question regarding LH scheduling because I have a feeling Im missing something.

I know two ways of scheduling an aircraft for LH routes -
1) with just one aircraft, preferably 7 days a week, the flights have the same number. It turns difficult to schedule planes this way when the route is around 4000km (you have to fly 6 days instead of 7 etc.)
2) 7-day schedule, flying seven planes, each flight has a different number, the only solution for very long flights.

However, Ive noticed now something I dont understand. Here's an example:

Airport A- Airport B (4119nm)
Days            Flight #   Dep   Arr           Aircraft
1234567   ABT027   1635   0800*   B762

Airport B- Airport A (4119nm)
Days           Flight #   Dep   Arr          Aircraft
1234567   ABT028   1010   1545          B762

How is it possible to schedule just one aircraft like this? There is no enough turnover time between flights on different days (only 40 minutes). NO time for B checks EITHER. This route seems to me too long to fly with just one plane 7 days a week still it exists. Ive noticed lots of airlines schedule planes like this. What am I missing? Thanks.

New update, it's possible to assign same flight number for 7 day schedule. Hence, you see just 1 clean schedule of 7 days a week, instead of 1 per week
