Can anyone explain to me what the logic is behind most if not all Russian built metal having turn around times that are 150% to 200% longer than the equivalent passenger size Western aircraft?
Fuel, Maintenance, Staffing, etc I can accept, but one would expect that with the extra staff on-board that they could actually achieve better turn around times.
Is the logic that the Soviet ground crews etc are less efficient than their Western counterparts?
If so why does the additional times still apply when flying on Western routes
Why is the Boeing, Airbus, etc not penalised when flying on a Soviet route?
This aspect of the Russian metal data is hard to accept that it is based on any logical reason except to penalise anything Russian
IL62 ... 165 min turn at <1%
DC8-55 ... 90 min turn at <1%
707-120 ... 90 min turn at <1%
all 3 are similar size aircraft at 150 - 160 pax
