A321 Neo vs B787-3
« on: July 18, 2013, 07:18:31 PM »
Guys, I'd like to hear from you regarding the benchmarking between the A321 Neo and the B787-3...

I've just a had a quick look at the specs of both a/c and the A321 looks definitely better. Beside the lower
cost, it also turns around quickly, needs 2 f/a less and has more or less the same range of the  bigger a/c.

Do you think the B787-3 would actually make any sense in the future, if I'd ever have the chance of buying
any of those to two a/c?

Jet Age?
For game mechanics: A 321 is not considered as WB/LH aircraft, the 787 is.

I meant MT8... I wasjust wondering, beside the difference in a/c group, if it makes any economic sense to buy the B787-3. It vasically does the same things that the A321 NEO does, butfor a way higher price, more crew and not significantly more pax or speed, with a double minimum tat... I am really going nuts with some people chosing the B787-3!;)

The only way anyone would purchase 783 is if they already had commonality with the 787 fleet group (788 and 789) AND flew from a slot constrained airport such that the 783 was superior to a321 and 739 because you could fill the plane...

In the future the turn-around times will be adjusted not only to the size of the airplane, but also the length of the flights that are scheduled. Longer flights need longer turn-around times, and short domestic hops will need less time. So it will even out, at least a little bit.

Right now, pax is gonna prefer the 783 Dreamliner over the A321 neo on longer flights anyway. So that's something you should take into account.

The 321 will hit a wall of "plane is too small for the route" around 2000nm wheras the 783 will not. So if you're looking at a 2500nm international route, 20% loads on the 321 will be a bit less profitable than full loads on the 783..
