[-] airport timetable view options
« on: March 27, 2013, 08:16:16 PM »
I know, you don't want to allow sheduling the flights on a per day base. So, here's my next option how to solve the problem with the very stupid looking timetables on the airports because of those who create one flight for every day.

Add the option to hide the flight number and then combine the flights of different days into one. E.g.

1----- AA12 15.40 17.00 722 AAAirline
-2---- AA14 15.40 17.00 722 AAAirline
--3--- AA16 16.45 18.00 737 AAAirline
---4-- AA18 15.40 17.00 737 AAAirline

12-4-- AA 15.40 17.00 722/737 AAAirline
--3---- AA 16.45 18.00 737 AAAirline

so, the flight number is replaced by something or even not shown and ... well, maybe the airplanes can be combined ... e.g. 4 M11 and 3 738 will be shown as M11/738

or to make it easier, you can do this and combine only those flights with exact the same values and planes

12---- AA 15.40 17.00 722 AAAirline
--3--- AA 16.45 18.00 737 AAAirline
---4-- AA 15.40 17.00 737 AAAirline

... and someone who want's to see the whole details, can select the old view style. But to be honest, I'm not interested in the flight numbers of other players. What I want to see is a short timetable so that I can plan my flights in between.

And since this Idea will not affect the data, it should be possible to implement easily.

to bring it up again... -> this could even be done with a little bit of javascript, so it would not even affect the load of your servers... so, maybe, such a "view-option" could be a real option for your next feature? ...

Yep, there is a previous thread of this too somewhere here. All things considered I think just grouping the flights toghether in planning/timetable would be easiest

Edit: this thread -,15882.0.html continues there as it's the original thread of the subject
