Amsterdam

by a mile.

Clean terminal, easy to find your way and a terrace to watch the planes. Only drawback is the Polderbaan, which is like a long taxi.. for those of you from the Netherlands.. I once had an EasyJet flight into Amsterdam and this was his message:

"Goodmorning Ladies and gentlemen, we have landed at Haarlem airport and we shall now commence or short drive to Amsterdam Schiphol airport."

Aside from Schiphol I'd say the new Sheremetyevo terminal. It's fantastically modern, clean and nice.

Favourite international airport is either Bangkok Suvarnabhumi or Amsterdam Schipol, the former because of its spacious design and usually efficient operation, the latter because it's the only airport I've experienced with a panoramic viewing deck. That said I did have the misfortune to land on the Polderbaan, having only flown from Heathrow the taxi to the terminal did seem nearly as long as the rest of the flight.

Favourite domestic airport is probably Koh Samui (USM) in Thailand, extremely relaxed atmosphere and totally exposed to the aircraft  :)

I always get reamed for this, but I'm going to say it anyway:

ATL

It's not the prettiest, but for domestic connecting it just couldn't be any easier than Atlanta. As a passenger who lives in the Southeast US, I would much rather connect in Atlanta than Charlotte, and definitely prefer ATL to any other East Coast hub. It's a well-oiled machine.

If I lived out west, Denver would be my preferred connecting airport. It's definitely my favorite destination. Flying there in a couple of months :)

The new Maynard H. Jackson Int'l Terminal, and Concourse F are very nice- Concourse F has a huge glass chandelier when you enter from the monorail.

Best international airports in my opinion are CDG and DXB. The worst I have experienced are JFK and LHR.

CDG so sucks.... looks like a cement bomb-shelter.... and all the walking between the Intercontinental Terminal to the European one sucks so hard.....

lol well being a smoker, maybe I'm a little biased towards airports that have a smoking area/room  ;) There is nothing more statisfying in the World than a cigarrette after a 14 hour long-haul flight  ;D

For me, it has to be Samui Airport (USM) in Thailand. Totally open, surrounded by tropical gardens. Passengers controlled by ponds and waterways rather than fences and walls. It's more like an open air restaurant than an airport terminal... Was almost disappointed to board the flight!

Indeed... *lights a cigartte*... that must be one of the reasons why you added my home airport (DUS) to your list of favorites :) .  Apparently in the Star Alliance terminal in CDG I struggled to find the smoking area on two flights... maybe I'm just too blind ;D

lol DUS it is! ... Although I've only been to Munich and Berlin in Germany.

Actually, I missed them at first, then when I asked around they pointed them out for me. It's a small glass room along the walkway in the intercontinental arrivals area (the path to the luggage). The departure ones are much nicer, air conditioned, well set-up with couches and what not.
