West-Berlin Traffic

Since the situation in Berlin since WWII was very complicated and impossible to remodel in this game (only British,American and French airlines allowed), could you at least cancel all demand between West-Berlin (THF and TXL) and all socialist countries ? It was politically impossible, like  traffic between the two german states, which is already reflected. Unrestricted traffic only possible after reunification in 1990.

Might be a confusion in the db, so the 'socialist' flights to Shoenefeld ( E Berlin) are forming a generic 'Berlin' demand?

exchlbg

There is no generic city demand yet, only demand between airports. So these demands can be treated differently.
Schönefeld SXF handled traffic to both systems, with exceptions of West Germany and Western Allies.
THF and TXL only served "Western" destinations.

ah, my bad.. just seemed to be a likely explanation to me... apologies.

exchlbg

No reason for apologies, I always can be proved wrong.
Since I am a born West-Berliner and old enough to recall these times, I would like to play correctly, actually I´m serving polish airports from TXL in JET AGE, which in RL only happened a few times in the opposite direction, because polish aircraft were kidnapped and landed in THF....
In RL West-Berlin was only served by PANAM,BEA and AIR FRANCE in the beginning. Later followed some other British (LAKER) or American dominated (MODERN AIR,early AIR BERLIN) to serve holiday traffic.West-Berlin only could be reached through 3 air corridors all leading to West Germany, flight altitude restricted to 3000 ft, always guaranteeing a bumpy approach.
East-German INTERFLUG mostly served socialist countries including Cuba and Vietnam from SXF. Some West-European companies also served SXF, like ALITALIA,SAS,AUSTRIAN.
So situation was more complex than I asked to reflect. If it´s too much work, it won´t be done and I can live with that, too.

AirBerlin Actually had their head offices in Miami until early 90s, just to operate in/out of Berlin Airports ;D

I'd like to see such limitations anyhow. Flying TXL to USSR feels just... WRONG :P
