[ok] Tu-204 variants introduction dates
« on: June 07, 2012, 12:16:10 PM »
Regarding Tu-204-100 and -120.
From what I've read the original Tu-204 was very short lived and was quickly replaced by Tu-204-100, as early as 1996 (and not in 2000s).

16.08.95 - The first middle-range passenger aircraft Tu-204-100 with PS-90A engines was manufactured.
01.10.98 - The first passenger aircraft Tu-204-100 with Rolls-Royce engines was manufactured under the long-term international contract with the Egyptian company KATO Aromatic.

Tu-204-100 Tu-204 mid-range version with increased takeoff weight (up to 103 t) and fuel reserve. Its flight range is 5,600 km (with 210 passengers) and 7,000 km (with 160 passengers). The aircraft was certified according to Russian NLGS-3 standards in 1996 and completely meets ICAO noise and emission requirements. Tu-204-100 is produced by Aviastar-SP (CJSC) in Ulyanovsk and is in operation with several Russian airlines.
Tu-204-120 Tu-204-100 with Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4 engines. The aircraft was certified in 1997. Tu-204-120 received Noise Type Certificate in accordance with Chapter 3 of Supplement 16 to ICAO standards and complies with all current Eurocontrol and ICAO requirements.

Ranges in the above paragraph seem to be off, on the same page UAC gives 204-100 4300km range for full payload and 4100km for 204-120.  According to Aviastar ( it's 4200km (max payload) and 6800km with 12t payload @ max fuel. On different Aviastar page it's 4300 and 6800. ( Ilyushin Finance gives it ranges of 3800 (max payload) and 7500 (full tanks).

Regarding Tu-214
The first series of Tu-214 was launched into production in the second half of 1994. Its first flight was performed on the 21st of March, 1996.
According to MAK ( it was certified in 2001.

It would be nice to be able to use the 204 with these statistics.

New data fresh from MAK :-) :

Issue dates of type certificates:

Tu-204 - 29.12.1994 (page 1)
Tu-204-100 - November/December 1995 (pages 6-10)
Tu-204-120 - 15.07.1997 (page 30)
Tu-204-200 - 14.03.1997 (page 26) Production started much later than that naturally...

Minor adjustments have been made, the dates have never been off than few months (apart from -100 model which I moved a few years forward).
