I just noticed the Dornier 328-110 and the Jet powered version 328JET have the same cruise speed of  mach .54. I just wanted to make sure this isn't a mistake, as it would give  no reason to use the 328JET.

It is an intentional mistake. It is necessary at the moment so they can be in the same fleet group (fleet group is for scheduling and dependent on speed).

When the commonality is changed I imagine this will be sorted.

So yes there is no clear advantage in using the jet version.
