What are good times to depart and arrive?

Is there ranking of hours when it is good to depart?  IIRC, ~8:00 and 18:00 are good times for departures.  I take it that midnight to 5 am are lousy time to depart.  Is there a chart of how the hour time slots rank as far as departure date?

Actually, my more pressing question are the arrival times, since I seem to have a rule of thumb for the deartures.  Do the arrival time count for as much as the departure times?

And if I can't help it and have to either depart or arrive during lousy hours, is it better to, for example, depart at 00:30 or arrive at 4:30?

I was wondering, if I can't help it, is it better to leave at 00:30 and arrive at 5:00 or depart at 23:55 and arrive at 04:25?

depart @ 23:55 is fine

arrive after 05:00 or else you can see the pax load drop dramatically :)

make your turn around time longer so arrive after 05:00am

I have played around with turnarounds, but suppose you have a scenario that when accounting for time zones of the airports, you have 4:30.  You can either leave at 23:55 and arrive at 4:25 or with turnaround, push departure to 0:30 and arrive at 5:00.  Which matters more, departure time or arrival time?

suggests that pax are much more tolerant of poor arrival time than poor departure time.

well in that case use good arrival time but price it lower than the inward route.

I'm doing extremely well using 4 to 5 o'clock, too... for take of and touch down.

Demand is not broken down to hours so taking off and landing at any time of the day is just the same, except the so called inactive time during 0000-0500 which you'll get a down loop on LF.

This is right. Even sometimes 0000-0100 is also not affected.

I've also got an experience in the previous ATB where few of my long haul routes are not affected at all departing at 0200 and 0300 (landing time at destination is afternoon).

I have honestly not seen much penalty departing at 4:55 vs. 5:00.

I do try to stick to later than 4:30, though.
