[-] Furloughs?

I would like to see the option to furlough pilots instead of fire them (reducing CI). For example, I had a situation where I had replaced a B767 that was going into D check with a B757. This caused staff levels to go out of whack since I had no need for ~30 VLA pilots for 80 days and the cost of hiring more LA pilots to cover the new 757 was less than keeping the ~30 VLA pilots employed for that time period. I fired them because the financials made no sense otherwise, but took a -3 hit to CI. I will of course have to rehire those pilots in 90 days when the D check is complete, but recovering that -3 hit is going to take a lot more effort. I would have greatly preferred to have just furloughed those 30 pilots for 90 days, not paying them salary, but not firing them either. Please give this some consideration, thanks.
